Most areas are pretty much buttoned down by websites and articles on the internet and the paranormal is no exception. You can find everything on the web nowadays from an English language course to salsa lessons, to where you have the best chance of sighting a ghost!
Many of these sites are quite comprehensive and you can choose from castles, abbeys, churches, hotels or even stations, as well as the odd ship or two. They tell you the sad history of the location, the personal story of the person who is rumoured to be haunting the place and other more practical details that you might need if you are planning (of all things!!) to pay a visit yourself.
There are even some reportedly haunted hotels that cash in on their status – and why not – with specific themed ghosties weekends. Bed, breakfast and a bit of terror on the side.
These sites have made ghost-hunting somehow more in the public domain and less the domain of weird people. By having such a wealth of information on ghost sightings you know that you are not alone in your beliefs. You can also join many forums to discuss your experiences with other like-minded people.
The problem is, after reading some of these sites, you will be too terrified to actually go and spend a night in any of these places!
