One topic which has been hotly debated for years now has been that of the paranormal. That's right, the old ghoulies and ghosties and things that go bump in the night.
Many people think that the sightings of these are limited to old castles where suspicious historical events have taken place – but they would be wrong as reported sightings can happen just about anywhere from a modern semi in Croydon to a gorgeous property in Marbella.
So do you believe? Many people would state unequivocally no – and yet they would be loathed to spend a night in a place reported to be haunted. However much our mind tells us to stop being stupid and look at the scientific evidence, our subconscious is often on the lookout for the lady in white or the headless horseman.
Which brings me to another cliché. Most people do have an idea of a romantic ghost thwarted in love or one who has fought for king and country. But when you start to read into the sightings many were actually quite ordinary people (who sadly have died quite unpleasant deaths).
Whether you believe or not, there are plenty of people who take this very seriously and actually go out of their way to research and find out more – even to the point of visiting these places themselves.
