Many people believe very strongly in the power of the mind to predict the future and what will happen to us. According to their line of thought, our mind is capable of tuning into higher forces to predict a range of information – from what will happen in our own future to more mathematically minded subjects such as the winning lottery numbers or the future best French mortgage rates which will be available in the next year.
Some people dismiss it as pure bunkum and do not think that anyone is capable of this – when they see or hear of examples they firmly believe that it was a coincidence and nothing else. If you have read the Black Swan you will have a good understanding of this.
And yet from time to time there are some predictions you read of which are eerily believable. Although few and far between you do hear of people who refuse to get on a plane as they predict something bad, only for the plane to crash.
This type of thing makes your blood run cold and you do wonder if the power of the human mind can stretch this far.
Whether it is true or not, I do not know, I prefer to leave an open mind. After all, it is very difficult to actually scientifically prove such an event, as sceptics will always refuse to believe the evidence.
